Saddle Road meanders through an area that is rich in history, culture,
and natural resources. It is also the route to Mauna Kea. Warren
will take you on an exciting and educational journey to this awe
- inspiring area. Explore an ancient kipuka, (area of older forest
surrounded by a younger lava flow), alive with the sounds of native
birds. Learn about the history of cattle ranching in Hawaii. View
the dynamics of Hawaiian volcanism. Rich in science, history, and local
lore, this adventure will be the highlight of your Hawaii vacation!
Trip
Duration:
Warren will pick you up at your location at 9:00 AM. You will return
approximately at 4:00 PM.
What
to Bring
Bring sturdy
shoes or hiking boots with socks, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and
a jacket. Please wear long pants and be prepared for cold and/or
hot weather.
Warren provides a personal experience. He packs in a great lunch, beverages and
snacks, and provides walking sticks, jackets, and gloves. No one
offers a tour as small and personalized as this!
