Trip
Duration:
Warren will pick you up from your location at 9:00 AM. You will return
approximately at 4:00 PM.
What
to Bring
Hiking over lava is rough, but Warren paces the tour with plenty
of breaks so you don’t get over-tired. You should be in reasonably
good physical condition. Bring sturdy shoes or hiking boots with
socks, sunscreen, hat and camera and depending on weather a light
windbreaker. Conditions on the lava are usually
hot, dry, windy and sunny, but the occasional downpour is not unusual.
If you bring very young children along, remember
to bring your car seats or boosters.
Safety
Scrambling around on newly formed lava poses many
threats. From hazardous fumes, to cracks and crevices, and red hot
breakouts, a lava guide will be able to read the dangers present
and reduce the risk of injury.
